Synopsis[]
Jared explains this horror / choose your own adventure game, but this looks far more interesting. Any character can die, and it is possible to save all 8 people. Jared probably won't save them all. Jared forgot about this game until he saw tweets about it.
Jared watches the introduction of the game. The kids look really old to be in high school, and Jared only recognizes one of the voice actors. The cabin is crappy because they have to use candles, and one of the characters almost sets a door on fire.
Jared begins playing and finds a note. Jared sees the character stats, and likes the feature. Jared finds a quick time event, and states that the characters overreact. Jared follows the footprints. Jared likes being able to use the touchpad like a smartphone. Jared finds a death totem, and is surprised by it.
Jared watches the scene, and likes how the game has a mystery. Hannah ran very far. Jared admits that the girls are dead. The girls fall off the ledge after being chased by flamethrower guy.
Jared is now in the Analyst scene. Jared likes how stupidly good the face capture is. Jared will be as honest as possible as he answers the questions. When shown the photo of the scarecrow, Jared says he is uneasy, but not because of the scarecrow. Jared is annoyed that the next question was the house. Jared says that the thing that made him uneasy was in the field, and was not human.
Jared feels that all his answers will become really important. The title sequence plays, and Jared doesn't know who anyone is.
The next scene plays. Jared sees one of the characters make a video, and criticizes his lack of jump cuts. Jared is becoming uncomfortable as he watches the video, but admits that he has the right mentality. Jared wonders if this game will go through every stereotypical fear. Jared meets the first character Sam, and she is being followed by machete man.
Jared comments on how fashionable Sam's skirt is. Jared tries to read the email on the back of the note on the gate. Jared climbs over the fence. Jared likes how the game shows the light on the PS4 controller. Sam finds all of her friends "meh". Jared only wants to see white butterflies, maybe yellow.
Jared decides to be good, and close the bag. Chris is introduced, and looks 28. Jared comments how badly Chris is holding the gun. He hits his targets. The squirrel from before appears, and Jared wants it to live. Butterflies appear. Jared decides to end the video, and he likes what he has seen so far.
